30th Annual Samuel McLeod Business Awards was celebrated in Hybrid style
The 30th annual celebration of the Samuel McLeod Business Awards (SMBA) was held on February 25, 2021 in Hybrid style on the stage of the E.A. Rawlinson Centre. Following all the guidelines of COVID, there were 30 people on stage.
The SMBA, produced by the Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce and presented by Saskatchewan Polytechnic, celebrated the exceptional businesses growing and operating within the Prince Albert District.
Finalists announced included: Business of the Year, Business Transformation, Community Involvement, Customer Service, Female Business Leader of the Year, Male Business Leader of the Year, Marketing, New Venture, Non-Profit of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
All applications were forwarded to our Prince Albert office for initial sorting and processing. Applications from each of the categories were then delivered to independent and anonymous judges.
“Normally this event has approximately 300 people in attendance, but like the Prince Albert businesses, the Chamber has learned to adapt. As their were 30 finalists, each was contacted and asked if they would like to be a part of the live audience, or have their acceptance speech pre-recorded. If the recipient of the category was on the stage, they gave their acceptance speech live and if was pre-recorded it was played,” advised Chamber CEO, Elise Hildebrandt.
As this was the Chamber’s 30th Annual Samuel McLeod Business Awards, a tribute to the last 30 years of Business of the Year Recipients was played.
“We were so lucky to have Terry McLeod, great grandson of Samuel McLeod stop by our Chamber office and say a few words of congratulations, as well as MP Randy Hoback and Saskatchewan Premier Moe.”
The replay of the event can caught on the Prince Albert Chamber’s YouTube Channel
