Committee members present included chair Colleen Young, who opened the meeting with an invitation to hear candid thoughts from business owners on what legislation changes might help open doors wider for business growth.
“We don’t want to deter investment,” Young said, adding that rather it’s the government’s role to create accountability and responsibility for businesses and investors.
Also at the meeting, MLAs Delbert Kirsch and Warren Michelson appeared on behalf of the caucus committee, along with Joe Hargrave, MLA for Prince Albert Carlton.
Various suggestions and concerns were voiced by Chambers members, who represented companies including construction, financial planning and retail, among others. At the end of the meeting, members thanked the committee for taking the time to listen to their concerns.
