As a Chamber board member and new board chair, Breeze will continue to work to support and promote the Chamber’s many business members through advocacy, networking and information events. Breeze said he enjoys his role as an advocate for local business growth and success and looks forward to representing the Chamber as chair of the board of directors.
“I think I learned that the business community in Prince Albert is a lot more diverse than I thought,” he says of his work with the Chamber over the past four years.
“There’s a lot of opportunity and a lot more here than meets the eye.”
Breeze has worked with Affinity Insurance in Prince Albert for nearly 22 years. He started with the local business in September 1993 when it was known as Redekopp Insurance. He handles a variety of portfolios, including life insurance, investments and group and pension coverage.
Breeze has been involved with the Chamber network for the last 15 years after attending his first Chamber luncheon with fellow businessman, Allan Hopkins. Hopkins recently announced he will close his business, Midtown Transmission & Auto Care, at the end of this month. Hopkins is also a former board chairman of the Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce, serving from 2008-2009.
As board chair, Breeze said he will continue to promote the value of a Chamber of Commerce membership among local business owners. The Chamber will also continue its efforts to advocate on behalf of members for policies and regulations that promote business profitability and growth.
“There really is no other advocate for local business in Prince Albert,” Breeze adds.
Greg Breeze replaces Shelley Cannon, who completed her term as chair of the board in May. Cannon becomes the Chamber’s past-chair, while Gordon Jahn from MNP now fills the role of first vice-chair.
