Meghan and her husband Jaret have owned and operated Salon 6 for the past seven years. The couple has two children, aged 16 and eight.
Ms. Mayer is a long-time resident of Prince Albert with a passion for business and community development. She loves helping other businesses succeed. Along with managing her salon, she has operated Plaza 88 Event Centre in downtown Prince Albert since February and is a Pastor with Embassy Church.
Some of the Ms. Mayer’s priorities as board chair include promoting a more positive image of Prince Albert as a great place to do business, growing the Chamber membership, connecting with young entrepreneurs and working with others in the community to promote and grow Prince Albert.
Outside the Chamber, Ms. Mayer has served on a number of other volunteer boards including the Prince Albert Winter Festival, where she volunteered as secretary/treasurer.
Building on her skills and passion for community, Meghan started Xtreme Makeover in 2011, an event that ran for four years and reached out to men and women in the community, awarding two lucky winners with a free makeover and a night on the town. She is an accomplished singer and has been active in the performing arts community as well, teaching, directing and producing a number of dinner theatre productions over the last 13 years.
This is Meghan’s fifth year as a director with the Chamber Board of Directors. She also sits on the Chamber’s Membership and Samuel McLeod Business Awards committees. Ms. Mayer, together with the entire 2017-18 Board of Directors, will be formally recognized at the Chamber's annual Chairman's Night gala. For details and to register, please click here.
