Brandon Urban, Business Development Manager with the Saskatchewan Rush, said the team wants to get to know fans and the business community across the province and are excited to be coming to Prince Albert November 8. The team is also new members of the Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce.
“This province has welcomed us with open arms,” Urban said. “We really want to build our brand outside Saskatoon and extend our reach.”
The Saskatchewan Rush Lacrosse Club has attracted a loyal fan base since their first game at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon in 2016. The Rush moved to Saskatoon following a ten-year stint in Edmonton. The addition of the Saskatchewan Rush in the province has boosted the popularity of lacrosse among youth as well, and Urban said the team is excited to see the sport growing at the grassroots level.
The Rush won the Champion’s Cup in their inaugural season in Saskatchewan and the division championship in 2017. The 2018 season gets underway Saturday, November 18 with a pre-season game against the Georgia Swarm. Single game tickets go on sale this Wednesday on Ticketmaster.
The Rush play their home opener December 23.
