After launching Corliss - With Purpose Consulting and Motivation in March of 2017, Corliss has helped empower hundreds of people to live with a solid direction. Through workshops, conferences, and now a new book, Corliss has found her purpose is helping other people find theirs.
“Everybody has limiting beliefs, including myself,” said Corliss, who pointed to humble beginnings as a farm girl with a high school education. Corliss' mission is to show people how to push past personal barriers, realizing their dreams.
“You have to choose to believe in yourself,” she said, adding that, “at some point, you have to say, ‘I’m worth it.’”
This August, Corliss was announced as a finalist in the New Venture category of The Abex Awards, hosted by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. She’s also preparing to launch Lead Your Life: How to Live With Purpose, Passion and Confidence - a resource for those interested in her workshops and conferences.
“I’m very proud of it,” said Corliss of her book, which has garnered positive feedback in reviews. In developing the title, Corliss enlisted the help of leaders like Jack Canfield, co-founder of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.
“I knew I needed to learn from the best in the world,” Corliss explained.
Corliss’ business got its start as she was entering mid-life. Her children were growing more independent and the entrepreneur began to re-evaluate her life. Though she’d established herself as a regional vice-president of PartyLite for many years, Corliss felt there was more she could offer others with her skills and experience. Her mission became to reignite passion in people, guiding them out of autopilot and into leadership.
After less than two years, her business has grown to garner international interest in her virtual workshops.
“We’ve got a crazy momentum here,” she said. "It’s incredible to lead a community of like-minded, positive and supportive people."
Corliss will launch Lead Your Life: How to Live With Purpose, Passion and Confidence on November 9 at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club, followed by a conference on Nov. 10 in partnership with Dr. Murray Howe, son of Gordie Howe, who has also recently published a book. The two will focus their joint vision of mentoring leaders.
“That’s what I’m all about – empowering people to lead their lives and be self-directed,” Corliss said.
