Representatives from Paper Excellence Canada, which owns the Prince Albert pulp mill, were in Prince Albert May 26, 2016 to talk to the community about their plans for the mill. David Kerr, Senior Vice-President with Paper Excellence Canada, said the mill is still on track to reopen in 2020. Mr. Kerr said the company will begin preparing for the opening sometime in 2018.

David Kerr is a proven pulp and paper executive with over 30 years of domestic and international experience in the pulp and paper manufacturing industry. Prior to joining Paper Excellence Canada as Vice President Operations in 2013, David held senior positions with several prominent pulp and paper manufacturing plants in Indonesia.
Within his Paper Excellence portfolio, David currently oversees three mills in British Columbia (Howe Sound, Skookumchuck and Mackenzie), one in Saskatchewan (Prince Albert), and one in Nova Scotia (Pictou).

Congratulations to Mann-Northway Auto Source. The business celebrated its grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting May 13. The event featured a barbecue, cake and open house and capped off a year's worth of renovations at the dealership, located at 500 Marquis Road in Prince Albert.
Mann-Northway Auto Source celebrated 100 years in business in October 2014.
Robert Mann, Dealer Principal with Mann-Northway Auto Source, said the dealership underwent a $2 million renovation recently, including upgrades to the showroom, customer service area and finance and accessory area. The business employs approximately 80 people locally.
The Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commrece partnered with the City of Prince Albert to host an economic development forum Thursday, May 5. The forum featured speakers from a variety of business organizations including the Clarence Campeau Development Fund, Prince Albert & District Community Futures, Square One, SuccessionMatching.com and TownFolio. The forum was an opportunity for business leaders to hear about new opportunities and economic developments in the Prince Albert region.
The Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce partnered with Safe Saskatchewan to host a mini Safety Charter Signing event Wednesday, May 4. More than 20 local businesses signed the Saskatchewan Safety Charter at the event, making the commitment to safety in the workplace. The luncheon also featured a keynote address by Brendon LaBatte of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
