The Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce is to be the voice of the business community with a role to enhance the economic and social environments of Prince Albert & district.

Vision Statement

To achieve our mission as the primary voice of business through involvement in activities, projects, and matters that are of importance to the Members of the Chamber.

Objectives

  1. To develop and maintain a healthy and vibrant Chamber organization in Prince Albert.
  2. To listen and respond to the ever changing needs and wants of our members.
  3. To be representative of all sectors in the business community of Prince Albert and area.
  4. To demonstrate and provide proactive leadership.
  5. To be involved with all levels of government and all segments of the community. The Chamber will maintain a non-political high profile image as it serves the best interests of its members.
  6. To provide a forum to educate and inform the members and the community on issues affecting business.

Goal — Play a leadership role in Prince Albert's economic development.

  1. Build strategic alliances and partnerships with key partners working for economic development with special attention to Aboriginal business issues.
  2. Initiate and facilitate public debate on emerging business-related issues.
  3. Lobby government agencies and organizations to improve the business environment in Prince Albert.
  4. Be proactive by continually researching and exploring models and opportunities that will benefit the economic development of the community and region.
  5. Develop an Action Prince Albert plan following a model similar to that of Action Saskatchewan.
  6. Lobby civic government to streamline and improve the processes businesses must go through to become established in Prince Albert.

Goal — Membership Development

  1. Explore ways to increase membership and retention.
  2. Provide ongoing education and networking forums for membership.
  3. Encourage member-to-member business partnerships.
  4. Continue to enhance membership benefits package.
  5. Create special focus on recruitment and retention of Aboriginal business members.

Goal — Image

  1. Design a communication/marketing plan that enhances the image of the Chamber of Commerce in Prince Albert & District.
  2. Continue to work with the media and public to keep them informed of the issues relevant to the Prince Albert & District business community.

Goal — Governance

  1. Develop a strategy to ensure Board representation is reflective of business community with a focus on increasing participation by Aboriginal businesses.
  2. Establish board packages and orientation manual for incoming Directors.
  3. Establish ongoing formalized meetings between Board of Directors and Municipal, Provincial, Educational and other Business organizations.
